Students at Court Fields School in Wellington joined in #HelloYellow, as part of the Young Minds Campaign, for World Mental Health Day.
They took part in many activities over the week, ranging from assemblies to Wellbeing Bingo and making yellow ribbons to show our support.
Pastoral manager Mrs Heggadon said: “We are a year on from the launch of our Wellbeing Hub and with the current pandemic we need to continue this vital education to understand our own and others’ mental health, as well as providing students with strategies and support.
“Since joining Court Fields in January 2020, I have been overwhelmed with the support and care our students show each other, and how mature they have been in sharing experiences, as well as offering a listening ear to their peers.”
Research shows that getting outside, taking part in activities and learning new skills can support positive mental health and Court Fields has launched ‘100 Things To Do Before Year 11’.
All students in Years 7 to 9 have received a poster and a challenge to mark off activities they have completed and try new ideas.
Along the way there will be milestone awards and students who reach ‘100 Things’ will receive a prize and award.
Throughout the year and during tutor and PSHCE sessions, students will continue to explore mental health education and if any students need support, they are asked to contact their tutor who will ensure they are signposted to both the in-school and external support Court Fields can offer.
