BRADFORD Players’ Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime, performed at Bradford-on-Tone village hall, was a fabulous show.

Maat Ward played the lead, Lord Arthur, with energy and he went through every emotion necessary as he made his way through his unfortunate few days. He was rarely off-stage but was comfortable throughout.

Mike Leach – Baines, the butler – was on stage nearly as much and was very poised in his role, and gave the impression of experience. The full cast of ten all played their parts well and supported Lord Arthur in his madcap antics, making a terrific ensemble effect.

The audience appreciated the play immensely, laughing lots, and when the actors took their bows they were met with warm and well-deserved applause.

The £7.50 ticket price suggests the size of a small village but this show could easily have been performed in a far bigger setting and had a ticket price to match.

All involved in Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime – cast and the many people behind the scenes required for the overall success of the production – deserve hearty congratulation. The director, producer and the many others involved produced something spectacular.
