CHILDREN in Year 3 and 4 at Beech Grove Primary School in Wellington have been learning about the Seaton Hoard – 22,888 Roman coins discovered on the coast of Devon by a metal detector enthusiast in 2013.

In a workshop, youngsters had a go at archaeological digging using a metal detector. They also played a matching game using Roman artefacts and made replica Roman coins. Darius the Roman told everyone a story about his life.
