Bard classic

WELLINGTON Theatre Company spent an evening of glitz and glamour at the Somerset Fellowship of Drama Phoebe Rees Awards.

After being nominated in nine categories, the group were ecstatic to win Best Sound, Best Director – awarded to Rachel Buttell – and The Gordon Neagle Memorial Cup for Best Production in a non-theatre venue.

The group are now looking for talented actors to join them in their next venture – William Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, directed by Christina Matravers. This will be a traditional interpretation of the play with lots of glittering fairy woodland and confusing love stories.

Those looking to take part in the production are invited to join the company for a read through of the play tomorrow (Friday, November 16) at 7.30pm followed by auditions on Friday, November 23 at 7.30pm. The read through and auditions are at Wellington Arts Centre.
