A ROW has broken out between Wellington Conservatives and their counterparts at County Hall over the closure of Nynehead Primary School.

In a twist to the long-running battle to save the school, Wellington Conservative chairman Trevor Morgan is to attend a full meeting of the Tory-controlled Somerset Council Council tonight, Wednesday, to ask why councillors are not supporting local parents in their fight to save the school.

Tory Upper Tone county councillor, Tony McMahon, who campaigned during the local election for a review of the original Lib Dem decision to close the school, said: "Wellington Conservatives didn't invite me to Monday's meeting.

"It could look as if we are not all singing from the same hymn sheet."

John Thorne, spokesman for Wellington Conservatives, said: "We are not at odds. We are all Tories, and we should be sticking up for the parents."
