A WELLINGTON pensioner has been "thrown out" of the local Conservative Club - for standing for another party in tomorrow's council election.
Now, Frank Bishop, 80, who had been a member for 40 years, and is a former vice president of the association, is fighting back after he claims he was told he was "too old" to be a party candidate.
Mr Bishop appeared before the club's ruling committee on Saturday to be told he had been suspended for nine months.
