Family business Quantock Funeral Services is celebrating winning another accolade – and a year at its premises in Fore Street, Wellington.

The business has been named Funeral Planner of the Year in the South-West for the third year running at the Funeral Planner of the Year Awards.

It was recognised by UK funeral plan provider Golden Charter for supporting the community with funeral planning during the year up to March 2020.

Quantock Funeral Services director Corrinne Foster said: “It’s been a very difficult year for everyone, not just for the local community but for the entire world. We have all had to learn to adapt to a new way of living and following new rules, which has made our job even more challenging. We pride ourselves on providing a compassionate and personal service to our families to ensure everyone has a dignified funeral.”

Funeral directors have adapted to the Covid-19 pandemic by providing services online including virtual appointments, live-streamed funerals and online funeral plan sales.

Golden Charter chief executive Suzanne Grahame said: “These past few months have turned a spotlight on funeral directors – key workers who have supported our communities across the country, around the clock – and we are delighted to recognise Quantock Funeral Services for the service it provides to the South-West area.”

Corinne said the firm had felt welcomed by the local community in its year in Wellington and added: “We have decided to fix our funeral plan prices for the whole of 2021, to ensure everyone has the opportunity to plan for their futures at an affordable price and at the same time show our commitment to the local community.”
