THE END is in sight for the roadworks which have blighted Wellington town centre since July with a promise that traffic will be back to normal by Christmas.

The roadworks associated with the building of a new superstore on the old Kwik Save site in High Street have caused long delays for the town's residents, and difficult trading conditions for local shopkeepers.

Now, the contractors say the work to the roads and the pavements should be completed by the end of November and that the remaining work which involves the installation of new traffic lights at the junction with Longforth Road will take place.
