WELLINGTON Town Council has welcomed Philip Johnson as its new assistant town clerk.

Mr Johnson took up the post on September 30 and attended his first meeting of the town council on October 7.

The council now has four members of staff which will allow the authority to get more work done.

Town clerk Kathryn Hemensley said: “This additional team member will not only ease pressure on existing resources but will create capacity for the council to achieve more.”
