WELLINGTON'S new police sergeant, Stuart Bell, remains confined to the police station on light duties after falling on his arm and breaking his elbow.
A rueful Sgt Bell told the WWN: "My arrival at Wellington was a little more noteworthy than I had intended."
He said: "I was hopping over a fence near Court Fields school while getting to know my new patch, when I lost my balance and fell on an outstretched arm."
He added: "I'm on the mend and hope to back on full duties cvery soon."
Sgt Bell had been due to introduce himself to members of Wellington Town Council at the beginning of January after taking up his new post on January 2, but was forced to stay at home recovering.
