POLICE escorted a large lorry ACROSS Roly Poly Green and sent it on its way after it became stuck in a narrow road in Wellington.

The vehicle partially demolished one householder’s wall and flattened another’s hedge in Alexandra Road in the incident last Wednesday afternoon.

The lorry, said by one resident to be a 42-ton 18-wheeler, was stuck for about an hour after entering the flattened -U-shaped part of Alexandra Road at the police station end.
