LOCAL churches joined in a celebration of Easter in Wellington with a Good Friday service and a Walk of Witness.
This commemoration of Holy Week and the days leading to the crucifixion began with an act of worship, led by the Rev Sam Griffiths at Wellington Baptist Church in South Street.
Following the service, the congregation – which 200 members of all the local churches – joined together to walk to St John the Baptist Church for refreshments.
Those joining the Walk of Witness followed the symbolic crucifix and handed out hot cross buns to bystanders in South Street and High Street.
