Mayor of Wellington Cllr Gary James and his wife Bee attended an open afternoon held by the Basins Volunteer Group at the site.

Committee members were able to talk about voluntary work, and Terry Milton and Richard Fox supplied information about the history of the Basins.

Members also gave special duck and swan feed to children who enjoyed feeding the birds.

The group plans to hold further open events and looks forward to welcoming more visitors.
