THERE were no wilting blooms in sight as the 91st Wellington Flower Show took place this last weekend (August 29) at the Alan Rogers Centre at Wellington School.

Judges Mark Joynes, Andy Russell, Maureen Riddle, David Lucas and Angela Blackwell had their work cut out for them among a glorious array of entries in all classes despite challenging growing season this summer.

Wellington MP Gideon Amos popped in and presented prizes and trophies to the winners. He said: “One group year in, year out making our community a great place to live - congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all the volunteers.”

Show secretary Sheena Page thanked all who supported the event including local sponsors, businesses, Wellington Town Council and Wellington School.
