AN illustrated talk on Wellington & The Railway will be held in the Morgan Room, Wellington School Sports Centre, on Thursday, February 25, at 7.30pm.

The talk will cover topics such as how the press reported the coming of the railway in 1843, the building of the Whiteball Tunnel, the conversion to standard gauge and two world speed records set by trains descending Wellington Bank. Anyone with memories of the railway in Wellington in the 20th century is invited to share them.

The talk, by Colin Spackman, is in aid of Wellington Local History and Museum Society. Entrance costs £3 or, for members of the society, £2.
