FIVE local charities are in the money after Mayor of Wellington Cllr Gary James opted to give away his annual mayoral allowance of £500. Five groups received £100 – Wellington Carnival Committee; Wellington Silver Band; Wellington Community Centre; 1st Wellington Scouts; and WHERE. The cheques were presented to group representatives in the council chamber.
