TWO supporters of an event celebrating the 200th anniversary of the first foundation of Wellington Monument are urging local people to get behind the performance.
The Story of a Stone is being staged on the evening of Saturday, October 21, 200 years to the day since the laying of the first stone.
The National Trust, which owns the monument, has asked performance company Actiontrack to create the event and is holding rehearsals at Wellington Arts Centre.
Nancy Powell-Brace and Victoria Osborne, who own Odette’s Tearoom in High Street, are involved in the event and are urging other people to join in.
