CHILDREN at Beech Grove Primary School in Wellington had some fun on Friday of last week – their last day at school before the half-term break – and coined in the cash for a good cause.

Pupils, some in ‘go-faster face paint’, held a series of races at Wellington Park throughout the school day in different year groups to raise money for Race for Life in aid of Cancer Research UK.

All the children were to receive a medal after completing the course and the Friends of Beech Grove provided a drink and biscuits for the runners.

The event was set to be rounded off with a teachers’ race.
