A WELLINGTON woman accused of causing a huge traffic jam on the M5 also faces an allegation of making a threat to kill.

Abigail June Wyatt, 25, of Trinity Close, pleaded not guilty when she appeared before Taunton Crown Court on Monday and also denied two further charges of sending a threatening letter or communication, and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

At an earlier court appearance, she was accused of causing the closure of both carriageways on the M5 for two and a half hours on August 25 by climbing railings on the Monument Road overbridge between junctions 26 and 27 and threatening to jump. She was said to have delayed and obstructed thousands of motorists, using valuable police resources and other agencies in the process.

She was remanded on bail to stand trial on February 8.
