JUST days remain for Wellington residents to present their scarecrows to competition judges.

The town-wide contest will see entrants get creative as they vie to build the most interesting straw man.

But those thinking about getting involved should act fast, with scarecrows needing to go on display by Monday, August 21.

Town Cllrs will be responsible for judging the scarecrows in their wards, and will make their rounds over the August Bank Holiday Weekend.

So far Wellington's north ward has proved home to the keenest of scarecrow makers, with residents leading the scoreboard on entries.

A winner will be selected from each ward and presented with a £25 voucher for a local shop, with an overall town winner set to walk away with a £50 voucher.

Entry to the contest can be made via the Town Council website.
