SOMERSET Wildlife Trust hosted a talk about barn owls at Langford Budville village hall.

The speaker was birds of prey expert Chris Sperring MBE (pictured), from north Somerset, whose talk was enthralling and informative.

The broadcaster and naturalist is the Hawk and Owl Trust’s conservation officer for the South-West and a vice-president of Somerset Wildlife Trust.

He was joined by his female barn owl, who, despite the strange surroundings and people, behaved well.

Chris’ talk covered a variety of topics from planets to hornets but always came back to the barn owl.

Tea, coffee and cake – and an opportunity to chat to Chris and the Somerset Wildlife team – was on offer afterwards.
