A YOUTH project based in Wiveliscombe has been selected to take part in the national Cash for Kids Community Challenge.

The challenge supported by Wickes gives the group an incredible opportunity to win up to £4,000.

The Cash for Kids challenge brings together 20 fantastic charities, all working hard to raise as much as they can during the fundraising period from July 1 to July 31.

It was opened in May to applications from grassroots community group, charity or local organisation looking for funding to support children in their area.

All organisation selected to take part have the chance to share of £10,000 in additional funding, with each organisation receiving 100 percent of the money they raise to support children and young people in their own community.

At the end of the challenge, the organisation that raises the most money will receive an extra £4,000 top-up grant from Cash for Kids, while those finishing in second to fifth place will each receive an additional £1,500.

A spokesperson for In the Mix Project said: “Every donation will help us provide local young people with resources, experiences, and opportunities to enrich their lives. Hearing the voice of young people, and supporting them to develop their skills and achieve their goals, is at the forefront of our work.

“Through group work, one-to-one provision, alternative education, and targeted support, we provide quality services to young people and communities that would not otherwise receive them.

“Programmes are designed to offer a safe place where young people are supported to achieve in their lives, and capture and realise their potential.

“Every donation, no matter the size, helps us climb the leaderboard and brings us one step closer to securing even more funding for our cause.”
