A WOMAN was rescued from her car on Tuesday morning (January 27) after it became stuck in fast-flowing flood water on Nynehead Road in Wellington.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue were called to the incident at 7am.

According to Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue, one of their Technical Rescue Teams used a boat to rescue her and bring her to safety.

Taunton Fire Station said their crews were responding to various water rescue incidents around the Taunton and Wellington area as a result of Storm Chandra.

Not only were motorists affected by flooding on Nynehead Road, the A38 near Wellington saw cars stuck in the deep flood water.

The flooding made the road completely impassable for motorists.
