Among the other Rotary District 1200 finalists was 12-year-old Sapphire Haddon, of Minehead, who attends the town’s middle school.

Sapphire was also a finalist in the Exmoor Young Chef competition held last autumn.

The Rotary competition was judged by professional chefs Peter Goodship and Max Coles.

The contest is one of a number of annual competitions hosted by Rotary with the aim of encouraging young people to excel in such skills as cooking, art, photography, writing, environment, and engineering.
