WIVELISCOMBE maintained their position at the top of Division Three in the Somerset Cricket League following a 113-run victory over Minehead's second team.

Star of Wiveliscombe's score of 342-5 was opener Gareth Bellamy who knocked 130, while follow opener George Sinnott, a century-maker the previous weekend, hit 81.

Elliot Adu Darko scored 36, Matthew Redwood 41 not out and Jake Woodward 26 not out at the end of Wivey's 40 overs. Ricky Lewis took 2-54, while Minehead's only other wicketakers were Oliver Groves, Archie Evans and Andrew Stevens.

In reply Minehead skipper Stevens opened the innings with Jonah Hopkins before top scoring with 69 while Alistair Harrison scored 50 and Rob Spiers 20. However Minehead fell well short of the 343 victory target, finishing with 229.

Sam Milson (2-25) and Jude Kybert (2-22) were Wiveliscombe's most successful bowlers, while there were wickets for Redwood, Richard Morrisoni, Henry Welch and Sinnott.
