WATCHET Town will be looking to avenge a 3-1 defeat at Minehead when the sides meet again in the first division of the Uhlsport Somerset County League at the Memorial Ground tomorrow (Sat, 2p.m.).
Watchet have certainly improved since that loss in late August and are lying third in the table, seven points behind the leaders Staplegrove with two matches in hand.
Minehead are sixth in the table and if they were to win, they would not only complete the double over their rivals but would also go above them.
"Obviously, we're expecting a big crowd," said Nick Sully, a member of Watchet's three-man management committee, today. "I'm hoping that a couple of players will be returning after missing our victory at Westfield last weekend.
"Not only is it a derby match, but it is expected to be a close game with not much in it."
The match between the sides at Irnham Road early in the summer was the first league derby for eight years and drew a bumper crowd. Minehead recorded their first home win over their rivals since the day they returned to the Somerset County League in August, 2015.
Watchet finished with only nine players last time around, while Minehead went to the top of the table.
Both teams go into the clash without their recognised first team goalkeepers. Watchet will be without Adam Bishop who will be missing through injury into the New Year, while Minehead's Kyran Wilkins has also been sidelined through injury for much of this season.
