FOR their latest match Rockwell Green travelled to Creech St Michael for a 4-mat contest - and came away with an exciting one-shot victory.

This was the Green's first visit to Creech since before Covid.

Scores (Green names first ), Graham, Reg & Mike R played Paul, Mick & Gary. Things were even after 5 ends, but then the Green trio pulled away taking the next 4 ends to hold a commanding lead with one to play. The home trio did take the last but it was a 12—5 victory for the Green.

Mat 2. Lauraine, Cass & Brian met Derek, Ken & Roland. The visitors found things hard as they never got on the score board until the 5th end, by which time the home trio were 7—1 up. Things did not improve for the Green as the home trio ran out 11—3 winners. The break was taken with the home side holding a 1 shot lead.

The restart saw Graham, Christine, & Mike R against Sheila, Richard & Helen in what proved to be the tightest match. The home trio held an 8—4 lead after 6 ends, but the Green fought back to level after 9 ends. With all to play for on the last, the home trio held their nerve to take it by one shot leaving the score at 10—9 in favour of Creech.

Last to play were Reg, Mick B & Cass against Alan, June & Richard H. Again the Creech trio started well to be 6—3 up after 6 ends when the wheel came off, allowing the Green to take the next 3 ends for a 10—6 lead with one to play. The home trio won the end leaving the final score 10—7 in favour of the Green.

It ended a very entertaining evening with the players enjoying meeting up with old friends.
