WELLINGTON Bowling Club’s Tigers, Lions and Pumas have all been in action in the past week.

Tigers were the top cats with a good win at home against Morchard Bishop but the Lions and Pumas both lost their away games.

On their home green, Roger Murphy, Bill Warnett and Tony Gibson's Tigers enjoyed a close game. The teams were level on 10 shots each after ten ends but the Wellington trio came through with a close win by two shots 16 – 14.

Derek Vile, Peter White and Ian Hollingsworth's Tigers were on top form. They led from start to finish and won comfortably, 23 – 10 to give the Tigers an overall victory by 39 shots to 24.

Pete Nichols, Nick Channon and Mike Groves' Lions were away against a very strong Exonia A side. They chased the home team all the way through but Exonia were not going to be caught and they won after a good fight, 20 – 14.

Jay Merrell, Paul Kelly and Julian Street also had a battle on their hands. The Exonia side scored 9 shots in the first four ends before the Lions got going. They picked up the pace as the game progressed but not enough to catch Exonia who won comfortably 23 – 13. The overall score was a victory to Exonia by 43 shots to 27.

Brian Wombwell, Paul Kelsall and Allan Samuel's Pumas had a close battle with a strong team from Tiverton WE Green. With just one end to play the teams were level on 15 shots apiece. Wellington's Pumas took the last end by one shot to pinch it on the line 16 – 15.

Arthur Carter, Alan Every and Alan Moore did all they could but lost in the end 24 – 15.

Tiverton were the overall winners, 39 shots to 31.
