WELLINGTON Bowling Club's A team went to North Petherton to take on their counterparts. They lost the match but it was close game which could have gone either way.

Julian Street, Graham Brown and skip Paul Kelly were 15–12 down on their rink at the halfway point but they fought back and pipped the opposition by one shot 23–22.

The away green created a major problem for Nick Channon, Gill Groves and skip Phil Ellis. It was heavy going and their opponents put up long jacks to make it harder. Their strategy worked and North Petherton took a big win 35 – 8.

Jay Merrell, Tony Gibson and skip Mike Groves applied pressure from the start on their rink and romped home for a comfortable victory, 23 – 12.

Wellington won on two out of three rinks but they lost overall 69-54, paying the price for a heavy defeat on the rink they lost .
