EX-SERVICEMEN have won Wellington Ex-Services Skittles League’s Chris Bullock Championship with a 100 per cent record.

And they clinched the championship in style by beating former winners Mowers by 62 pins at the Cottage to complete a league and cup double. Lee Baker top scored for Ex-Servicemen with 57 while Vince Milton was tops for Mowers with 46. Scores: Ex-Servicemen 388, Mowers 326.

WRFC 326, Scuppas 305: The rugby boys gained a 21-pin win in a low-scoring game at the Conservative Club with Andy Thorne steering them to victory with 53. John Barker was Scuppas’ leading skittler with 54.

Foresters 371, Here 4 the Beer 401: Here 4 the Beer gained an impressive away win by 30 pins at the White Horse with John Chim’s 50 being the pick of the home side. However, Ben Price was the star of the match with a splendid 62.

All Stars 402, Odds & Ends 355: All Stars produced one of their best displays of the season to record a convincing 47-pin victory in the Victoria Arms’ derby. Owen Milton led the charge with a superb 58 as the home side broke the 400-pin mark in style. Rob Standard knocked 61 for the losers.

Nynehead Club 380, United Services 341: Nynehead Club delivered a confident home performance to defeat Services by 39 pins Nynehead skipper Tom O’Neill led the way with an excellent 59 as the hosts maintained consistent scoring right across the board. Paul Fancy scored 59 for the Services.

King Pins 355, Home Guard IV 354: Pins edged the tightest match of the night with Shane Powell’s 54 proving crucial. Greg Harrison’s 52 kept Home Guard in contention with the contest going right down to the final hand.

Meanwhile, Bell Green moved up to join leaders Relyon in the Gerald Thorne Championship with a convincing 44-pin win over Rebels on the upstairs alley at the Vic, although they have played one more game than their title rivals. Jason Powell scored 50 for the winners while Charlie Knight and Howard Elliott scored 50s for Rebels. Scores: Bell Green 392, Rebels 348.

Holywell Lake 369, Home Guard II 374: Home Guard produced a big surprise by beating third-placed Holywell Lake with Macca Campbell knocking a superb 65 while Scott Pincombe and Ryan Skeels both hit 50s for stunned Lakers.

Cottage Pies 364, Hot Shots 338: Jordan Perry scored a fine 54 for the Pies who won by 26 pins against Hot Shots whose top scorer was Alan Brooks (47).

Reservists 393, Queens Legs 374: Reservists delivered a strong home display to beat Queens Legs at the Institute with youngster Jacob Sparks in fine form with 58, while Alex Conway hit 57 for the losers.

Report Centre A 351, Shooters 394: Shooters produced a great display to pick up a convincing 43-pin win at the White Horse with Keith Harcombe stealing the show with a magnificent 70. Report Centre A’s leading scorer was David Bennett with 56.

Fireguard A 350, OBA 354: OBA squeezed home by four pins at the Football Club with Scott Sloman (56) being their match-winner, with Ollie Hayes knocking 55 for the hosts.

Oaks 362, Club Rockers 349: Oaks’ captain Ashley Bright scored 50, while Rockers’ skipper Ed Holtum hit 52 for the visitors.
