THE ladies have enjoyed some close and exciting games at Wellington Bowling Club during the past week.
In the Thursday League, Wrens held on to second place with a comfortable win against Doves.
In the Friday League the Rowans moved up from third place to second with a good win over Hazels and fourth placed Oaks beat Elms to move into third.
Suzanne Worth, Diana Dagg and Marguerite Nichols' Wrens were in fine form on Thursday against Diane Sutton, Janet Moore and Maggie Milton's Doves, winning in style 14 – 3.
In the Friday League Jackie Finney, Maggie Milton and Marguerite Nichols' Rowans started well and although Shirley Samuels' Hazels began to catch up it was too late and Rowans won it 9 – 6.
Carol Horrill, Pauline Wadham and Debbie Lane's Oaks played very well and Angie Moore's Elms tried to catch them but lost after a close battle 9 – 6.
