NEW champions Wellington have completed the season with a 100 per cent record after hammering Taunton by 136 runs at home in their final match in the Somerset Division of the West of England Premier Cricket League yesterday (Sun).

It means they won all 16 of their league games - two other scheduled fixtures being called because of bad weather.

Wellington, who decided to bat first, scored 234 all out with Alex Sparks (50), skipper Arron Campbell (54) and vice-captain Luke Desave (46 not out) being their top scorers.

Taunton lost an early wicket and never seriously looked like becoming the first team to beat Wellington this season. Charles Solanki top scored with 28 as the visitors were bowled out for a paltry 98.

Sri Lankan Sandaken Pathirana, playing his last game before turning home next week, took 3-11, while there were two wickets for Jack Beale and Rob Moysey.
