THE decision of a member of Wellington Swords Fencing Club, Charlie Follett, to take a gap year to concentrate on pentathlon has paid off for she has been selected to represent Great Britain in the Junior World Pentathlon Championships in Cairo this week.

Her gold at the Portuguese Senior Competition and her win at the Shropshire Women’s Epee last weekend should boost her confidence for this week’s challenge across the disciplines of fencing, riding, running, shooting and swimming.
