WELLINGTON Town Under 18s' manager Joe Conway and his assistant Andy Govier are stepping down from their roles at the end of the season.

The pair issued the following statement today (Wed): “It was always our intention to manage the side for two seasons, and this is our second season,” said Govier.

“We could have walked away at the end of last season when we didn’t win a match. But we have been very competitive this season and topped the table towards the end of last year."

Meanwhile, Wellington return to action in South Division of the Western Floodlit Youth League tomorrow (Thurs) when they play away to Administer Town.

“We’ve got a couple of players out but otherwise we will be fielding a strong side,” added Govier.
