THE West Somerset Cricket League has ruled out promotion and relegation if it does get under way later this summer.

League committee member Lee Baker said: “We’re desperate to get back playing but it is not easy.

“My own feeling is that we will end up by playing just friendlies. We’re already into the second half of the season and cannot see when we will start up.

“Some clubs are so keen they still want promotion and relegation but that’s no longer possible. And we cannot extend the season because of winter sports.”
