THE ECB age group competitions involving the Somerset Pathway cricket teams are now in full swing during which there have been some impressive performances.

In the ECB Boys Under 18 County Cup, Somerset played Herefordshire who, after choosing to bat, were all out for 244 in 47.5 overs, Zach Vukusic claiming 3 for 32 and Thomas Watson 3 for 40.

When Somerset replied opener Bertie Michael carried his bat for an unbeaten 128 at better than a run a ball , which included 18 fours and one 6. Sam Price ended unbeaten on 54 off 68 balls with six 4s and added 160 with Bertie in an unbroken fourth wicket stand of 160 off 22 overs to see Somerset to 247 for 3 in the 43rd over.

In the ECB Girls Under 18 One Day Cup Somerset travelled to Whimple to face Devon where, after choosing to bat, the visitors scored 262 all out in 45.5 overs.

Katie Rowe made 59 off as many balls with 8 fours and Laila Moledina 52 off 47 deliveries, the pair putting on 85 for the second wicket after which Charlotte Webber hit 72 off 73 with 7 fours and one 6.

When Devon replied they were all out for 199 in the 36th over, Alicia Pyle taking 3 for 35.

In the ECB Girls Under 16 County Cup, Somerset travelled to Bratton to play Wiltshire where, after being asked to bat, they scored 241 all out in 41. 4 overs.

A feature of the innings was a second wicket partnership of 138 between Ava Pike, who made 85 from 110 balls with 12 fours, and Isobel Glyn Jones, who scored 80 off 57 deliveries with 12 fours and one 6.

In reply Wiltshire reached 193 for 9 from their 50 overs, Isobel rounding off a good day by taking 4 for 22 off 7 overs, one of which was a maiden.

In the ECB Boys Under 14 County Cup, Somerset played Berkshire and after winning the toss and batting first posted 217 for 9 from their 45 overs.

Lewis Walters top scored with 89, off 121 balls with 7 fours while George Timbrell Whittle made 32 the pair, adding 49 for the fifth wicket.

In reply Berkshire were restricted to 213 for 9, Jake Earp taking 3 for 22 from 8 overs, giving Somerset victory by 4 runs.

In the ECB Girls Under 14 County Cup, Somerset hosted Cornwall at Taunton Cricket Club.

After the hosts won the toss and asked their visitors to field first Cornwall were bowled out for 95 in 25 overs. Two bowlers claimed three wicket each - Mattie Hodgin took 3 for 10 from 3 overs, while Beatrice How took 3 for 15 off 5, with one maiden. Daisie Frost took for 25 and Bella Lloyd 2 for 14 each having bowled 5 overs apiece.

When Somerset replied they lost opener Kayla Sturgess with 7 on the board when Isobella Tryfonos was joined by Imogen Dunn. The second wicket added 63 taking the score onto 70 in the eighth over when Imogen was out for 40 off 24 balls with 8 fours and a 6.

Isabella helped take the total onto 82 when she was out for 24 her own score onto early on after which Somerset went onto score 99 without further loss in 13.1 overs.
