WELLINGTON Rugby Club's head coach Graham Dawe has described first team skipper Danny Lee as 'a warrier.'

Lee has been in the wars of late and gashed his head in last Saturday's home game against Wadebridge Camels.

"He had it looked at and went back on again," said Dawe. "He leads from the front."

Meanwhile, Wellington's two senior sides are both without league matches this weekend. The players trained as usual this week but have been given the weekend off.

After ten matches, Wellington's first team are lying seventh in Regional Two South West, having remained competitive throughout, although not always having the best of luck.

They got within three points of title-chasing Wadebridge Camels last Saturday before being beaten by a late try.

There is only one league game in the division this weekend - Chard v Sidmouth who will go top if they win.

Wellington have three more league games to finish off the year - away v North Petherton (Dec 2), away v Sidmouth (9), home v Chard (16).

Wellington 2nd XV are lying third in Counties Three Somerset South despite losing 12-3 at Crewkerne last weekend.

Wiveliscombe lst XV also have a blank weekend after a tough season so far in Counties One Western West where they are bottom with only one victory - against Bideford at home a fortnight ago. They will probably welcome the break before playing home to fellow strugglers Falmouth tomorrow week.

Wiveliscombe 2nd XV are eighth in Counties Three Somerset South.
