ALEX Pope says a decision over his future with Wellington Football Club will be made 'within the next week.'
"I've one last meeting with the chairman (Mike Hall) this week and then a decision will be made," he said today (Sat)..
Pope has been asked by the club to stay on as sole manager after sharing the role with Tim Legg, who has stepped down, last season.
But he has said: "What I don't want to do is to continue being in a similar position as we are now.
"I want the club to make progress. I'm ambitious and I want the team to make an impact next season. I don't mean win the league but to finish much higher up the table."
Wellington finished in 15th place in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League, one spot below the previous season.
Legg and Pope had hoped to finish mid-table, and at one time they looked like doing this. Although they were well down the table, they had games in hand to move up.
