BISHOPS Lydeard Mixed have won the Taunton and District Youth League’s Under 15 Plate Competition after beating Staplegrove Spartans 2-0 in the final which was held at Bridgwater United’s home ground.
On their way to the final Lydeard, whose side includes students from Kingsmead School, Wiveliscombe, beat Watchet Town 6-0 in the quarters before defeating Wembdon Dragons 7-1 in the semi final.
Played in front of a crowd of over 250 at Fairfax Park, the Lydeard goal scorers in the final were were James White and Pippa Stephens, while the player of the match was Danielis Krisciokaitis.
The Bishops Lydeard squad included Peter Stephens, Ollie Reading, Danielis Krisciokaitis, Josiah McGill, James Hayes, Alex Seaton, Morgan Mason, Max Forsyth, Darcy McCormick, Caiden Salter, James White, Billy Budge, Carl Salter, Pippa Stephens, Dan Collins, Jack Warren, Charlie McCarthy and Evie Mellor.
Lydeard play in the 16-team Under 15 division and are looking for a top-three position at the end of the season.
