WELLINGTON will be back in action tonight (Feb 3) when they play away to Radstock Town in a rearranged match in Division One of the Toolstation League.
Manager Clive Jones is hoping that brothers Sam and Conor, who are both working away, will be available to play.
“It’s very difficult when your job takes you away to make yourself available for midweek games,” said Jones. Defender Jamie Fleet has been called up and Jones may have to bring in another player if both the Bryants cannot make it.
Wellington will be chasing the season’s double over Radstock, having beaten them 3-1 at home earlier this season. Jones admitted he was disappointed by the 1-0 defeat away to fourth-placed Ashton and Backwell over the weekend.
“We lost out to a goal six minutes from the end,” added Jones. “It’s a pity because I thought we had done enough to have earned a point.”
Wellington Reserves will be hoping to play their first game of the year when they visit Bickleigh, who are lying second in Division One of the Devon and Exeter league. Hemyock are home to sixth-placed Lyme Regis in Division Two while Wellington Thirds are away to Elmore Reserves in Division Seven.
Milverton Rangers are due to play away to unbeaten second division leaders Sydenham Rangers in the Taunton Saturday League. Sydenham are dropping only two points this season.
