WELLINGTON Town rounded off their year with a fine 4-2 away win over North Curry in Division One of the Under 15 section in the Taunton and District Youth League.
With their new kit sponsored by Joseph Cox Golf coaching, the tone of the afternoon was set on six minutes, when Jack B robbed the ball off the Curry defender before setting up Sam A for an easy tap-in to open the scoring.
Matt T doubled Town's lead on the ten minute mark before combining with fellow midfielder Ryan M, who's cool finish found the bottom left hand corner to put the visitors 3 goals up inside the first 18 minutes.
Curry pulled a goal back with their first effort on target on the 20 minute mark, before the influential Matt T restored Town's three goal advantage with a neat finish from the edge of the area.
Curry had a chance to reduce the deficit late in the half - but Town goalkeeper George B produced an outstanding acrobatic save in the dying minutes to ensure Welly went into the half-time break with a three goal cushion.
And while Curry pulled one back shortly after the restart, it was Town who remained in control throughout much of the second half as Welly secured a valuable three points on the road.
The result leaves Wellington handily placed in tenth spot in the 16-team division which is led by Middlezoy Rovers Mustangs who are 100 per cent after playing ten matches.
They have a six-point lead over second-placed Isle of Wedmore Lions who have dropped only three points in their eight games to date.
Bridgwater’s Victoria Park Rangers are another team who have won all their matches and they are tucked in behind the leaders after playing six games.
