WELLINGTON AFC U16s looked back over the 2024/2025 season at their end of season presentation evening.

Following a pizza supper, the coaching team of Jonathan Bouchta, Neil Povey and Dave Hicks took players, parents, guardians and supporters through the key results and performances before handing out the hotly anticipated awards.

Youth secretary Colin Waller presenedt a special award at the conclusion of proceedings. Spirits were high as the team celebrated a successful campaign which saw the U16s easily win the Division Two title in the HO Soccer Taunton & District Youth League with 13 wins, one draw and no defeats. Their League Cup run saw them knock out Division 1 side Galmington Dragons.

Ed Old was the standout player, scooping 3 awards (including Parents' and Players' Player).

Awards: Trainer of the week - Brenly Povey & Luciano Elsmore; Most MotM Awards- Ed Old; Most Assists - Brenly Povey; Impact player - Koby Letten; Parents' player - Ed Old; Most Goals - Spencer Thomson; Players' player - Ed Old; Coaches’ player - Toby Marke; Future ref - Elijah Hiller.

Colin Waller presented the coveted Most Promising Player award to Spencer Thomson. The formalities ended with thanks to parents and guardians for their support, the coaches for their efforts and Hannah Bouchta for keeping the finances in check.

The club look forward to many of the squad moving up to the U18s and, ultimately, enjoying many years of success in men's football. All that remains is to thank The Victoria Arms for providing an excellent venue and The Mole Resort for their sponsorship and support over the last two seasons.
