MILVERTON Rangers have still not been removed from the first division table in the Invest Southwest Taunton Saturday Football League despite pulling out seven weeks ago, writes Barry Knott.
Rangers were lying bottom with minus two points from nine games when they withdrew because of lack of players in January.
Milverton chairman Joe O’Brien said at the time the club had been fined £90 for not playing a cup game. He said he had been putting money into the club and he had “had enough.”
But the official league table still include Milverton and the Saturday League cannot do anything about it.
A league official explained only the FA could remove Milverton and they had been asked to do this more than once.
All teams who have played Milverton have taken points so their removal from the league is going to affect positions.
At present Middlezoy Rovers Reserves are top on goal difference from Westonzoyland but they also have three games in hand. Champions Bridgwater Sports are third, one point behind Middlezoy but having played two more games.
