WELLINGTON A 6

HEMYOCK faced their toughest test of pre-season so far when Wellington A made the short trip over the border on Saturday.

Wellington ran riot against a poor Hemyock side on the day. The game was an eye-opener for Hemyock manager Sam Iddon, who may have to start thinking about limiting the number of players he uses on match days to avoid the mass on field changes disrupting the flow of his team.

That said, credit to Wellington who played very well considering they came to Hemyock off the back of a 4-1 loss at Dunkeswell. It’s just a shame they didn’t manage to make it back to the pub for the food which had been laid on.

Wellington’s scorers were Brad Holmans (two), Jordan Sellick, Joey Conway and Rohan Poulsom, and there was also an own goal.

Hemyock were in action again on Wednesday evening (August 26) at home to Awliscombe and play again tomorrow (Saturday) away at Axminster Reserves.
