HEMYOCK 0 LYME REGIS 8

A DEMORALISING defeat at the end of a busy yet semi productive week in Division Two of the Devon and Exeter League.

Having lost 4-1 to Lyme Regis the previous Saturday, Hemyock played at home to Exmouth on Bank Holiday Monday,losing 2-0 and then again on Wednesday night when they entertained University, a game which should have really been one of the harder fixtures. Hemyock, however, defied the odds and put in a sterling performance, coming out 2-0 victors with goals from Ben Facey and Josh Jordan.

Unfortunately, this Saturday it was a case of normal service resumed as Lyme Regis visited Longmead, leaving with an 8-0 win and all three points. Hemyock again struggled for players but did manage to field a team which is a huge bonus as it was also the first game of the cricket season.

Now it leaves only one game to fulfil with an away fixture at East Budleigh on Saturday. The big question still remains however: Will Hemyock have a football team next season?”
