WELLINGTON will be looking to bounce back after their defeat by Bridport when they play at home to Shepton Mallet in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League on Saturday, writes Barry Knott.

After holding Bridport to a goalless first half over the weekend, Wellington let it slip in the last 20 minutes when they conceded two goals.

“It has been a hard three or four months,” admitted Wellington boss Clive Jones yesterday.

“I thought we deserved a point against Bridport. We’re playing a better style of football these days but we need someone to put the ball in the back of the net.

“Once Bridport had scored, it was game over. We have to work out a way of scoring goals.”

Wellington have two more home games coming up - against Hengrove Athletic (Jan 13) and Street (Jan 20).

Wellington left back Joe Chamberlain, sent off for two yellow cards against Bridport, faces a two-game suspension, having only recently completed a three-match ban.
