WELLINGTON will be chasing their first win of the season in the Premier Division of the Jewson Western Football League when they play away to Buckland Athletic on Saturday, August 9.
Wellington, who put up a spirited fight before losing 4-1 away to Southern League Bideford in the FA Cup last weekend, have collected only one point from their first two league games.
Buckland, however, have won their opening two matches - against Barnstaple Town (2-1 away) and Newquay AFC (3-1 at home).
Interim manager Tim Legg will take charge of Wellington at Buckland following the decision of last season’s boss Richard Cherry to step down just before the season started.
Club chairman Mike Hall was in charge of the side in Legg’s absence for the 2-2 draw at Shepton Mallet last week.
Wellington are thought to be beginning interviews for the vacant manager’s job tonight (Thurs).
