WELLINGTON will be hoping that former assistant player-manager Tim Legg will be fit to play in tonight’s (Nov 22) away game against Clevedon Town in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League.
Legg suffered a foot injury in Saturday’s 4-0 home win over first division leaders Westbury United in the first round of the Les Phillips Cup.
“His foot was badly swollen after the game,” said Wellington manager Clive Jones. “I think he has a 50-50 chance of playing.”
Wellington will definitely be without new goalkeeper Tom Welch for tonight’s game and also for Saturday’s home match against Cadbury Heath (3.00).
“I knew he would not be available before I signed him,” added Jones. “He is at university and is not always available.”
Wellington’s first-choice goalkeeper Connor Sidley-Adams is still in America so Mitch Woodgate is likely to play in goal tonight although he prefers to play out on the field.
“We have to start picking up points in the league,” said Jones. “I’m not setting a target but we need points to pull away from the bottom .”
