THERE will be three new faces at Wellington’s first serious pre-season training session tomorrow (June 30), writes Barry Knott.

Manager Clive Jones said yesterday: “They are all attacking midfield players. Obviously they will be attending with the view to signing for us.”

Jones also revealed that all four of the Bryant brothers – Sam, Jack, Conor and Luke – have committed themselves to the club for the new season, plus the experienced Tim Legg who has had offers to join other clubs.

Legg has played Southern League football for both Bridgwater and Taunton and is a key member of the squad.

Jones held a training session last Thursday when he had a chat with the players before they played five a side football for the rest of the night.

“I told them that I had heard one or two of them had been training with other clubs,” he said.

“No-one came to me at the end of the night and told they were leaving, so we’ll wait and see,” added Jones who still has to find a new goalkeeper. “It’s not proving as easy as I thought,” he added. “They are in short supply.”

The season starts one week earlier this season with an away game for Wellington on Saturday, August 6. It means Wellington will have one more away game early on in the season because they cannot use their ground at the Playing Field which is wanted by the local cricket club until mid-September.
