IT HAS been confirmed that the final sum raised at the recent Sampford Blues FC charity reunion cricket game held at Brompton Ralph Cricket Club was £500 in total.
The sum of £430 was raised on the day while there was an additional donation of £70 by The Mump Market Garden & Farm Shop, of Burrowbridge. All monies have been donated to Musgrove Park Hospital, Beacon Centre, Taunton, who have treated and are currently treating several past players and supporters of the former club.
The reunion and 20/20 fun cricket match was held early in July and was played in great spirit with many past team managers, players, their children, officials taking part, with special guest local football referee MartinBaldock not issuing any cards!
It came down to the last over with The Blues’ team triumphant with two balls to spare with a total of 125 runs.
Nick Buttle said: “It was certainly a special day for everyone who attended.”
